Membrane keypad assemblies can be manufactured to any size or shape to fit into the ergonomics of your design. These designs fall into the basic categories below:
Non Tactile Membrane Keypad
Overlay with flat surface finish, circuit spacer, printed circuit, rear adhesive. Options include single or double circuit, embedded components such as LED's etc, waterproof adhesive and medical coating of switch surface. Tactility defined by the materials and switch pitch
Tactile Membrane Keypad
Polycarbonate overlay or silicone rubber keypad with embossed keys, snap domes or both, circuit spacer, circuit, rear adhesive. Tactility defined by combinations of key height, diameter of snap dome and/or type of embossing used - these include pillow, dome and rim together with the base materials used.
PCB Based Membrane Keyboard
Similar to above, but with the PCB additional options such as LCD modules and drivers or additional active components can be included in the assembly. the additional PCB also adds robustness to the final assembly.
